Check-In requirements
Travel Documents
RwandAir cannot and will not be held responsible for any missed flights due to passengers arriving at the airport with the wrong documentation. It is the passenger’s responsibility to arrive with any and all correct and valid documentation.
When traveling domestically, it is essential that passengers arrive with a valid form of identification, as well as a valid boarding pass, before they will be allowed through the boarding gates.
When traveling internationally, passengers are required to have a valid passport, a valid and boarding pass, as well as any visa/visas they require for the country they are traveling to, before they will be allowed through the boarding gates.
Check-In
When checking in at the airport, it is advised that you arrive at least three hours before the time of departure for international flights, and two hours before the time of departure for domestic flights.
The check-in desks close for both domestic and international flights one hour before the time of departure. Flights from Dubai and Lagos close one hour and thirty minutes before the time of departure.
You are also able to check-in online on the RwandAir website. Online check-in opens 24 hours before the time of departure. Online check-in allows you to avoid any possible queues as well as avoid any delays that may affect you getting to your flight on time.
Business Class Lounges
If you are a Gold or Diamond card holder, you are allowed access to the Business Class lounge located at Kigali International Airport. This lounge offers refreshments, work facilities, as well as a great place to relax before a long flight or during transit.
Domestic Flights
RwandAir flies to two other domestic airports besides their hub at Kigali International Airport. Passengers can travel between Kigali, Cyangugu, and Bugesera. This gives passengers the chance to travel across the country.

RwandAir Baggage Policy
Checked Baggage
On a RwandAir Economy flight, you are allowed 2 pieces of checked baggage, each weighing 23 kgs. Business Class passengers are allowed 2 pieces of baggage, each weighing 32 kgs.
Cabin or Hand Baggage
Every passenger is allowed to bring on one piece of hand luggage, on every aircraft and every class, weighing no more than 15 kgs. The exception is South Africa, where the weight limit is 7 kgs.
