About Royal Jordanian

Established in 1963, Royal Jordanian hopes to connect Jordan with the world. In 2011 they opened up flights travelling to Lagos, Nigeria and now have flights twice a week, connecting Lagos with Amman and Accra, Jordan.

 

General Flight Information

Travel documents

For a smooth and hassle-free flight, it is best to have your documents ready and correct upon arrival at check-in.

You need your ticket. There are paper and electronic options.

Then you need your passport and Visa if required.

 

Check-in

Airport check-in

You are required to check-in at the airport three hours prior to scheduled departure time and at the transit area gate one hour prior.

Advanced check-in

If you are flying out of Amman, you can visit the City Terminal’s Advance booking counter. Check your bags in and choose your seat., then, take a bus ride to the airport.

Self check-in

With the easy-to-use self check-in service, passengers are able to check themselves in and avoid waiting in queues. Simply fill in all the accurate details of your flight, yourself and your baggage into the system, and you’re ready to go.

Online Check-In

Check-in online from 4 to 24 hours prior to your flight. To do this, all you need to do is go online, enter your personal and travel details, select your name from the list of travellers, review your itinerary, confirm your details and choose your seat. The print out your ticket for validation when you arrive.

 

Business Class Lounges

There are a large number of Lounges available at airports all across the globe. Each lounge has its own business, dining and entertainment services, and many of them are open 24 hours. Gold, platinum and Crown Class members can take advantage of these lounge benefits on their travels.

Royal Jordanian Baggage Policy

Checked in baggage

Baggage allowance is dependent on your destination, whether you are flying Crown Class or Economy Class, and is different for infants.

 

Free baggage allowance

For all destinations except North America, Cairo. Khartoum & KSA, if you are flying Crown Class you are allowed two pieces not exceeding 53kg, the first bag 30kg and the second 23kg. If you are in Economy Class you can take one piece not exceeding a weight of 30kg.

For infants, one piece with a maximum weight of 10 kg/22 lbs is allowed, as well as a fully-collapsible stroller, carrying basket or car seat. This may be carried with you into the cabin provided that there is space.

Checked baggage allowance from/to Cairo, Khartoum & KSA for Crown Class passengers, is two pieces, with a weight limit of 32kg each. For Economy Class passengers the allowance is one piece, no heavier than 23kg. Infants are allowed one piece with a maximum weight of 10 kg/22 lbs, as well as the stroller, basket or car seat.

On flights to and from North America, passengers flying Crown Class can take two pieces with a weight of any piece a maximum of 32 kg. Economy Class passengers are allowed two pieces, weighing no more than 23 kg. Infants allowance is one piece of checked, not exceeding 23 kg.

 

Excess baggage

Any extra baggage that is checked in and does not fit within your baggage allowance, will be charged for. The fee for this is dependent on where you are going to, and where you are coming from. All excess bags are charged at 23kg, if your baggage exceeds 23kgs you will then pay an additional charge of $50, although bags must be less than 32kg.

If you have special baggage such as musical instruments or sporting equipment that exceeds 32kgs you need to notify the airline when booking.

Wheelchairs and assistive devices will be carried free of charge for passengers with limited mobility, these will not count as part of your baggage allowance.

 

Cabin or Hand Baggage

Carry-on baggage works in the same way as check-in baggage, in that Crown Class and Economy Class passengers’ allowance differs, as well as infants. Crown class passengers can carry two pieces in the cabin.

Economy Class Passengers are allowed one piece of carry-on baggage per person according to the set size, weight and shape.

Carry-on luggage must meet these requirements:

  • Must be able to fit under passenger’s seat or in an enclosed storage compartment
  • It shall not exceed 7 kgs
  • The dimensions must be 9X16X20in or 23X41X51cm
  • The sum of the three dimensions shall not exceed 45 inches, including wheels, handles, side pockets, etc.

Passengers with infants may take baby food and other necessities up to a weight of 7kgs.
