About Arik Air
Arik Air is a 100% Nigerian privately owned commercial airline. The airline started in 2002, in reaction to Nigeria Airways liquidating. Arik Air’s chairman bought a Hawker jet to transport his colleagues and associated in the gas and oil industry.
During this process, a need for such a service was noted and a corporate jet business was launched. The plan was to expand from a small corporate air travel company, into a full scale airline.
2016 was Arik Air’s 10 year anniversary. It is now the biggest airline in Central and West Africa, and strives to connect the region to encourage prosperity.
