You can check in online at the British Airways website 24 hours before your flight departs. You will be able to do this on the Manage My Booking tab.

With this online service you can take advantage of choosing your seat in advance. Once you have checked in, either download, print, or email your boarding pass.

Losing your boarding pass is not a major issue. The British Airways check-in counter at the airport can provide you with a replacement boarding pass.

The app can be downloaded for mobile use or on Apple products such as their watch and iPad. Like the website, it allows you to check in 24 hours before your flight.

Once checked in, the app has a clever boarding pass saving feature that can save up to 8 people’s boarding passes, including a connecting or return flight.

British Airways Baggage Policy

Checked Baggage

Checked baggage has volume, weight, and size restrictions. Any checked luggage that exceeds these restrictions is subject to an excess baggage fee.

With regards to size, checked baggage can be up to 90cm x 75cm x 43cm (35.5in x 29.5in x 16in). This includes everything that makes up the bag, such as handles and wheels..

Adults, children, and infants are subject to different weight and volume restrictions. Adults (12yrs +) are allowed two items of checked baggage, both of which must be under 23 kg (51 lbs).

Children (2yrs – 11 rs) are subject to the same restrictions as adults but can also board with a stroller and car seat.

Finally, Infants (0 yrs – 2 yrs) are only allowed one bag, which must weigh under 23 kg (51 lbs). Like children, infants are allowed to board with a stroller and car seat.

Cabin or Hand Baggage

Besides checked baggage, passengers on flights from Nigeria to the UK and vise versa can carry two items of hand luggage into the cabin. One item can be a hand/laptop bag, and the other can be an additional hand luggage item.

For adults and children, both hand luggage items must be under 40cm x 30cm x 15cm (16in x 12in x 6in) in size and weigh under 23 kg (51 lbs). On the other hand, infants can have one hand luggage item smaller than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm (22in x 18in x 10in) and weigh less than 23 kg (51 lbs).

Any cabin baggage that exceeds the restrictions is put with your checked baggage. In this case, an excess baggage fee will follow if the baggage is above the checked-in luggage requirements.
