Africa World Airways Online Booking & Flight Specials
After receiving their Air Carrier License (ACL) from Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in March 2011, Africa World Airlines took to the skies in September 2012. The airline is a Ghanaian owned company, and aims to “connect Africa to the world through the most efficient, safe and reliable air transport service” according to their mission statement.
They have a fleet of six aircrafts, which connect cities like Accra, Kumasi, Tamale and Takoradi Together. As well as Lagos and Abuja in Nigeria and a flight to Monrovia in Liberia.
Airport check-in will begin two hours before departure. Passengers will need to arrive at least 40 minutes before they are expected onboard. To check in, you need to provide an original version of your government issued ID, photocopies and other versions will not be accepted.
Online check-in is not yet available for AWA, but they are in the process of implementing it, so it should be something that their passengers can benefit from in the near future.
Passengers may check in two pieces of luggage per person. The bags should not weigh more than 23 kgs. Bags exceeding the weight limit will be charged as excess baggage.
All passengers are given an allowance of one carry on baggage as well as one small personal item bag such as a handbag, backpack or laptop bag. The bags should not weigh more than 5 kgs, to avoid being charged for as excess baggage.
Your bags will also need to fit into the overhead bin, if they don’t they will be charged as excess checked-in baggage. For this reason, AWA recommends that travellers use soft-sided bags that can be manipulated into the space if need be.
All bags weighing more than 23 kgs will be charged a fee per kilogram.
