About Royal Air Maroc

Royal Air Maroc is the national carrier for Morocco, it is also the largest airline in the country. Royal Air Maroc, also known as RAM, is completely owned by the Moroccan government and is headquartered in the grounds of Casablanca-Anfa Airport.

The main hub for the airline is Mohammed V International Airport, and it has a vast domestic network that runs across the whole of Morocco. They also serve many destinations across the globe, in Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America, as well as chartered flights for special occasions such as Hajj.

Royal Air Maroc also offers a great frequent flyer programme. Called Safar Fly, members can earn and redeem miles either by flying with RAM, its direct subsidiaries, or partner airlines Iberia, Qatar Airways and Etihad. There are also hotel and rental car benefits.

General Flight Information

Travel Documents

Royal Air Maroc cannot and will not be held responsible for any passengers missing any flights or connecting flights due to incorrect or invalid forms of identification, passports, boarding passes or visas.

When traveling domestically, passengers will need to present a valid form of identification, as well as a valid boarding pass before being allowed through the boarding gates and onto the aircraft.

When traveling internationally, passengers will need to present a valid passport, as well as a valid and approved boarding pass, and any visa/visas that are required to enter the country they are traveling to, before they are allowed to board their flight.

Check-In

When checking in, you are able to check-in at the airport at other the check-in counter or at the Royal Air Maroc kiosk that is located in the airport. It is advised that you arrive and check-in at least 2 hours before your flight is due to depart.

You can also check-in online. Online check-in can be done up to 48 hours before your time of departure and is suggested if you want to miss any check-in lines and end up missing your flight.

Business Class Lounges

The Casablanca Lounge, which is available to all Business Class passengers and Safar members holding Gold, Ambassador or Silver Loyalty cards. It is the perfect place to rest and relax before a flight or during transit.

You can easily sit back and enjoy your relaxation time, watching aircraft take-off and land, or you can do some quick business before an important meeting. The Casablanca Lounge is designed to make you feel fresh and rejuvenated.

Domestic Flights

Considering Royal Air Maroc is Morocco’s flagship carrier, it has extensive routes throughout the country. They fly to 15 cities across the country, connecting every corner and flying passengers wherever they need to go.

International Flights

Internationally, they do not serve as many countries as other airlines, but they do fly to major cities across Europe, a few countries in the Middle East, across Northern and Central Africa, New York and Washington D.C, as well as Canada.

Royal Air Maroc Baggage Policy

Checked Baggage

Depending on where you are departing from, and which country you are departing from, that will determine your baggage allowance. Please contact Royal Air Maroc well in advance of your departure date to find out what your baggage allowance is.

Hand/Cabin Luggage

For your cabin luggage, you are allowed one piece of cabin luggage, that must meet the sum of the three dimensions of 115 cm, and it can weigh no more than 10 kgs. Please refer to the Royal Air Maroc website if you have any questions relating to your hand luggage.

Excess Luggage

Excess baggage fees vary from country to country. Please refer to the Royal Air Maroc website, well in advance of your departure date, to find out what fees you may incur for overweight baggage.
